On Stage: High School / Collegiate Series Highlights

On Sunday, December 8, at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features highlights from our 20-year High School/Collegiate Performance Series.

Monthly during the school year, high school and collegiate bands and after-school jazz programs get the chance to showcase their best efforts, with all the tension and excitement of playing LIVE on the radio!  Programs playing at KUVO over the years the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts “Jazz 89 Yardbirds,” Colorado School of Mines, the University of Denver Lamont School of Music, Denver School of the Arts, Denver South and Denver East high schools, Kent Denver and the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars!

As we approach Colorado Gives Day, KUVO continues its celebration of music education at a time when arts in schools are still strained by limited resources.

We’ll play the best tracks from student performances broadcast from KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio!  It’s a High School-Collegiate “On Stage,” this Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. only on KUVO Jazz!
