On Stage — Celebrating the High School / Collegiate Series

On Saturday, December 4, at 10 pm, and Monday, December 6 at 7 pm KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features highlights from our 20-year High School/Collegiate Performance Series.

Monthly during the school year, high school and collegiate bands and after-school jazz programs get the chance to showcase their best efforts, with all the tension and excitement of playing LIVE on the radio! Programs playing at KUVO over the years the Colorado School of Mines Jazz Ensemble, the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music Jazz Orchestra, Grandview High School Jazz Ensemble One, “The Rebel Jazz Band” from South High School and many others.

As we approach Colorado Gives Day on December 7, KUVO continues its celebration of music education at a time when arts in schools are still strained by limited resources.

We’ll play the best tracks from student performances broadcast from KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio!
