In honor of late KUVO host Linard “Scotty” Scott and his work sharing the heritage of Black Music through his show, Origins: Orgy In Rhythm, KUVO is bringing listeners two programs exploring world music Sundays from 2 to 4 PM MT.
Afropop Worldwide | Sundays 2-3 PM
An award winning radio program, Afropop Worldwide is dedicated to the music and cultures encompassing the entire African diaspora.
Hosted by one of Africa’s best-loved broadcast personalities, Georges Collinet, this show takes listeners to dynamic music capitals such as Dakar, Senegal; Johannesburg, South Africa; Cairo, Egypt; Havana, Cuba; Salvador de Bahia, Brazil; New York and Paris.
Listeners meet leading stars as well as emerging artists, and can enjoy live concert recordings of world-class artists.
Putumayo World Music Hour | Sundays 3-4 PM
Hosted by KFOG personality Rosalie Howarth, the Putumayo World Music Hour takes listeners on a weekly journey through the music of various cultures.
Playlists include household names like Bob Marley, Sting, Loreena McKennitt, and Santana, along with exceptional, underexposed international artists.
The program also features interviews with world-class artists such as Los Lobos, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and others who been influenced by world music.
