New Music Monday for March 9th

The 2 outstanding guitarists, Kevin Eubanks and Stanley Jordan team up for a brand new release, Duets, a collection of 10 duos between the two, alternating between acoustic and electric guitars as well as Kevin taking turns on vibes, piano and bass. The Puerto Rican trombonist and bandleader from Philadelphia, Angel “Papo” Vazquez celebrates 40 years as a musician with his brand new outing with his group,  the Mighty Pirates Troubadours, Spirit Warrior is another production of Vazquez’s own, Picaro Records. As always, Papo’s Philadelphia pal and co-leader Willie Williams is on tenor sax with fine sidemen and special guests. Joe Alterman, a pianist from Atlanta marks his debut, Georgia Sunset featuring Houston Person who also produced the recording.

Other CDs we’ll be premiering include the Michael Waldrop Big Band, Time Within Itself,  veteran bassist Mark Egan’s latest is Direction Home, and we have a new one by saxophonist George Garzone, Crescent with Esperanza Spalding on bass and Leo Genovese on piano.
