It’s New Music Monday! August 10, from 12 ’til 1pm exclusively on KUVO Jazz! Stay up-to-date on the latest releases from the world of jazz!

This week’s premiers include:

Christian McBride Big Band: “For Jimmy, Wes and Oliver” Besides a fantastic bass player, McBride is an important jazz ambassador and host of a weekly syndicated show that is aired on KUVO Jazz, Christian’s latest is a tribute to 3 of his jazz heroes and influences.

Billy Childs: “Acceptance” Over his career spanning more than 25 years, pianist Billy has always been considered an innovator, a musician not afraid to take chances. Childs has often performed and recorded with Denver’s own Dianne Reeves. For his newest recording Billy teams up with some formidable accompanists and 2 guest vocalists.

Harold López-Nussa: “Te Lo Dije” (I told you) Hailing from a musical family Harold is one of Cuba’s finest pianist. As always he is joined by his younger brother Ruy on drums and percussion. Harold and Ruy have performed live at KUVO Jazz twice as well as playing Dazzle several times.

Every Monday beginning at Noon, I debut the latest arrivals to KUVO Jazz, often ahead of their regularly scheduled release date. In addition to the music, I’ll provide a few tidbits about the artist in particular if it’s an new or up and coming artist.
