Local Love Spotlight – YaSi

THE DROP is dedicated to empowering Colorado and it’s artists through discovery. We spotlight a series of homegrown artists both on-air as well as through our Local Love Spotlight web series. YaSi will be performing at THE DROP’s Next Stage NOW concert series August 9th at 5pm.

Yasman “YaSi” Azimi’s passion for the local scene has propelled her towards becoming one of Denver’s rising R&B artists. She has played on some of the city’s biggest stages like Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Bluebird and UMS. YaSi has allowed her middle-eastern roots,  her identity as a woman, and the alienation she feels to inform the work that she creates. Rather than falling further into herself, though, the driving force behind her work is the desire to be understood; to have empathy for others’ issues and to receive compassion for her own.

With a unique voice and style, YaSi is well worth catching live. Come and check her out on August 9th at THE DROP’s Next Stage NOW showcase. This local pop-up concert series is free and located at the corner of 14th and Curtis, (under the roof), at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
