Local Denver Organization Strives to Mimimize Effects of Drug Abuse

Harm Reduction Action Center's Director of Programs and Data Evaluation talks to First Take about drug abuse.

The Harm Reduction Action Center – an organization dedicated to minimizing the harmful effects of drug use – believes addiction “is not something you can arrest your way out of.”

Robert Bellamy, the center’s Director of Programs and Data Evaluation, visited First Take with Lando and Chavis to talk about how drug addiction and abuse is a public health problem.

The Harm Reduction Action Center provides access to clean syringes to help reduce the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C as well as creates an entry point for those struggling with addiction to reintegrate into the community.
