Live & Local: Sammy Figueroa’s Latest Album Searching for a Memory (Busco Tu Recuerdo)

Percussionist Sammy Figueroa’s latest release celebrates his father, noted Puerto Rican bolero singer Charlie Figueroa. KUVO Morning Set host Carlos Lando sat with Sammy and the producer of the project Rachel Faro via Zoom to discuss the conception of the project, the intimacy of the recording session, and the healing process between the son and the father he never knew. The album, “Busco Tu Recuerdo – Searching for a Memory,” featuring Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Aymee Nuviola, is out now on Faro’s Ashé Records. Hear the conversation below!
