Tune in! The next edition of LIVE from KUVO features the Afrobeat sound of ATOMGA, from the Masterpiece Studio on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m.

Since its inception in 2011, ATOMGA has continued to be a refreshing staple in the Colorado music circuit. Celebrating 13 years of creating a unique brand of Afrobeat music infused with elements of jazz, rock, hip hop, and funk, ATOMGA builds polyrhythms that always get their audience moving! Through the years, ATOMGA has had remixes by artists such as Grant Phabao (Paris, France) and Craig Welsch (Rear Window Studio, Boston). They also have a gold medal-winning beer named after them from Bodebrown Brewery (Curitiba, Brazil), which is served periodically at Banded Oak Brewing Company in Denver. ATOMGA is constantly evolving its sound through layered compositions of high-energy music that will get your blood moving and the sweat pouring down! They have a reputation for live performances which provide a fun-filled dance party for all ages and all walks of life. Thirteen years in and ATOMGA shows no sign of slowing down. The band is opening for Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 at Levitt Pavilion on July 20, and they’re in the studio recording a new album for release this fall.

Co-founders of ATOMGA Frank Roddy (tenor sax) and Casey Hrdlicka (lead guitar) are joined by LaSha “Calysol” Afarko (vocals), Peter Mouser (keys), Jared Fischer (percussion), Matt Schooley (drums), Andrew Tobin (baritone sax), Joshua Merbitz (trumpet), and Joel Ashmore (bass guitar).

ATOMGA, live on KUVO, on the air, on the stream, on the app, and on KUVO’s YouTube and Twitch channels, Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m.!

Performances on KUVO JAZZ are supported by Bonfils Stanton Foundation, Drum City Guitarland, Grace Design Pro Audio, Listen Up, Flesher-Hinton Music in Wheat Ridge, the donors of the Carlos Lando Musician & Event Fund, and KUVO’s Studio Club members.
