KUVO welcomes back pianist Carmen Sandim back to the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio on Monday, April 17 at 6pm. From piano lessons as a little girl in Brazil, to composing for her jazz quartet in Denver, Carmen Sandim has found in music her lifetime adventure and purpose. It comes as no surprise that Carmen Sandim has mastered the intricacies and subtleties of good jazz. Through her diverse journey, the unifying thread has been the search for a sound that is unique and honestly expressive.

Over the past few decades Carmen’s eclectic musical aesthetics have drawn her in many directions: classical piano studies, jazz composition and performance, film scoring, and a long-lasting commitment to improvised music pedagogy.
Carmen is a prominent performer and music educator, she teaches piano and composition lessons at her home studio, as well as music classes at Naropa University and Metropolitan State University of Colorado Denver.
