Like Sunday, Like Rain | Movie Review
Starz Denver Film Festival feature “Like Sunday, Like Rain” is a touching portrayal of how music lays the framework for an unlikely friendship between an adolescent musical prodigy and struggling young woman.
Leighton Meester plays Eleanor, a young woman dealing with a bad streak of luck. Breaking up with her cheating boyfriend and losing her job in the same day, Eleanor finds herself with no place to go. Seeking employment as an au pair, she lands a job watching wise beyond his years Elliot, played by Conor Carrol.
Coming from different sides of the track in New York, broke Eleanor and rich kid Elliot discover they have much more in common than meets the surface and form a strong bond.
Music plays a leading role in this film, laced with a beautiful soundtrack. This story of loneliness, acceptance, risk, new beginnings – and of course, the love of music – is one that should not be missed.
“Like Sunday, Like Rain” can be seen at Denver’s Sie FilmCenter.
