KUVO’s Women’s History Month looks at Tia Fuller
Aurora born Tia Fuller, hails from a great line of music. Bass player father Fred, her mother Elthopia is a singer, and her sister Shamie Fuller Royston is a composer and pianist.
Tia started playing saxophone in high school and eventually moved to Atlanta where she performed in many jazz clubs.
She has been a member of an all-female band touring with Beyonce, performed with the T.S. Monk Septet, the Nancy Wilson Jazz Orchestra, as well as leading a quartet.
On her own she has recorded five CD’s and has been nominated for a Grammy. This Colorado native has a lot to be proud of.
