Let’s Celebrates Fat Tuesday! You’re Invited!

KUVO goes all out for Fat Tuesday with two broadcast performances and an R&B Jukebox special program from the Buell Media Center.

Tune in at noon for The Diamond Jubilee All-Stars and then at 6 pm for the Tivoli Club Brass Band.

And, you won’t want to miss Rolando Garcia and Paul Donavan at 7 pm as they will bring the house down with an evening of R&B Jukebox music on Fat Tuesday, February 21, 2023!

ABOUT THE DIAMOND JUBILEE ALL-STARS — Longtime Colorado-based bassist Mark Diamond leads some of the best local players with a New Orleans groove for The Diamond Jubilee All-Stars. Joining Mark is Paul Benkelman on keys, Jay Forrest on drums, and Gabriel Mervine on trumpet. We’re bringing the NOLA vibe to you! A couple of special musical guests are expected!

ABOUT THE TIVOLI CLUB BRASS BAND — The Tivoli Club Brass Band has been funkin’ it up around Colorado and other parts since 2017, driven by drummer Dean Hirschfield’s love of BRASS. A Centennial State jambalaya of classic and contemporary hits, micro-brewed with the flavors that make Colorado the greatest state in the union. The roster: Hirschfield on percussion and paperwork along with Rachel Hargoder and Dustin (the Diamond) Arndt, Joe Walsh on tuba, Troy Thill on sax, Kim Tiede on bari sax, David “D-FLO” Flombone and David Dinsmore on trombones, and Steve Illich and Michael Gates on trumpets. No standing still allowed, or even possible.

ABOUT THE R&B JUKEBOX — Rolando Garcia, host of the R&B Jukebox will join Paul Donavan and will take you to New Orleans for a Fat Tuesday show right from Denver, Colorado.
