New York-based vocalist Kendra Shank returns to Dazzle for the first time since 2008 for a long-awaited collaboration with Grammy-nominated Boulder pianist Art Lande, joined by guitarist Tim Wendel.

The trio’s in-the-moment conversational interplay will draw from a broad range of material: re-imagined standards, originals, open improvisations, a folk song, and compositions by Abbey Lincoln, Fred Hersch and other modern composers. Kendra and Art have known each other for many years and their brief musical encounters in New York gave them the desire for this deeper collaboration at Dazzle. Art and Tim are frequent collaborators and Kendra, whom The New Yorker describes as “imaginative and daring” thrives on the freshness of new musical connections. “A wide open, mind-bending celebration of the human spirit.” –Toledo Blade
