Nocturne—Jenna McLean Quintet: A Wink and a Smile

Inspired by her love for comedy, vocalist Jenna McLean and her band have thoughtfully curated a set of music dedicated to the fun, playful, and humorous attitude so often found in the jazz tradition. The band will perform some of Jenna’s original music and venture into the clever works of Bob Dorough, Nancy Wilson, Betty Carter, Ida Cox, Lambert Hendricks and Ross, and more. Over the course of July, Jenna will be joined by a collection of special guests including Briana Harris, Wil Swindler, Tom Amend, Annie Booth, Michael Rinko, Alejandro Castaño, and Bobby Wiens.

Jenna McLean is an accomplished jazz vocalist, songwriter, and educator who finds her artistic drive in bringing new twists to timeless standards of the Great American Songbook as well as pop, funk, and soul tunes. Jenna has a Doctor of Arts degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Northern Colorado and has had the pleasure of performing alongside renowned musicians such as Bobby McFerrin, Aubrey Logan, and the New York Voices, and also performs regularly with Colorado-scene musicians such as Steve Kovalcheck, Ben Markley, Eric Gunnison, Tom Amend, Dawn Clement, Annie Booth, and others.
