Jambalaya Youth Xplosion Brings Down the House
Codaryl Cody Moffett’s Jambalaya Youth Xplosion brought the house down during their January 17 performance at Dazzle Jazz.
Some of Denver’s finest young musicians – including saxophonist Rico Jones, pianist Euanha So, vibraphonist Rocco Williams, guitarist Alex Heffron and bassist Wilson Luallen – delivered an outstanding performance rivaling that of established musicians.
The young musicians were joined by Cody Moffett on drums, Brad Goode on trumpet and Oz The Finale (Moffett’s son) on vocals. The performance included original compositions from Moffett’s latest CD.
Son of legendary drummer Charles Moffett and brother of virtuoso bassist Charnett Moffett, Cody was immersed in music and surrounded by jazz greats from a young age. A recent Denver resident, Cody hand-picked a group of top local youth musicians to form the Jambalaya Youth Xplosion group.
Youth Xplosion’s inaugural performance proved these upcoming musicians are the next generation of jazz greats!
