Gift of Jazz presents Eric Gunnison: Inspirations | June 10

Acclaimed jazz pianist Keith Jarrett performed solo for a sold-out audience at the Köln Opera House on January 24th, 1975. The resulting inspired performance, recorded and released by ECM became both the best-selling solo jazz and solo piano albums in history.

In tribute to this legendary, free-spirited performance, Gift of Jazz presents an afternoon of Solo Inspirations by Denver’s own jazz piano master, Eric Gunnison. Recognized internationally, Eric has performed and toured with dozens of jazz legends, most notably, Carmen McRae and the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band. His collaborators read like a who’s who of jazz including Roberta Gambarini, Rene Marie, Randy Brecker, Jim McNeely, Chris Potter, Christian McBride, Wallace Roney and Bobby Watson among many others.

A fundraiser for Gift of Jazz’s educational programs, including our Jazz for the Schools series, the concert will take place 3:00pm at Classic Pianos, 1332 S. Broadway in Denver, and will be an intimate affair with an intermission champagne and dessert reception. An exclusive recording of the performance will also be made available.
