First New Music Monday of Summer

After a week vacation,  New Music Monday returns for its first Summer edition. Just like the weather the music is hot but the listening is easy. The highlight of our debuts this week is by the gifted trumpeter and educator Sean Jones.  The Sean Jones Quartet’s latest is im•pro•vise: never before seen for the Mack Avenue label, Sean is accompanied by Orrin Evans-piano, Luques Curtis-bass and Obed Calvaire on drums. Another highlight is by the Harmonie Ensemble of New York under the direction of Steven Richman, their new outing is a tribute to Henry Mancini’s Peter Gunn soundtrack. We will also feature Red Hot + Bach, a contemporary tribute to J.S. Bach, the popular vocalist Cyrille Aimee’s It’s A Good Day and others this Monday from Noon ’til 1pm
