Bandleader and composer Taylor Clay returns to the Nocturne stage for this special one-time performance with his quintet. One of the most dynamic voices on the saxophone in the Rocky Mountains, Clay’s playing and writing showcase prodigious skill and a delicate artistic sensibility in equal parts. For this performance, Taylor will be joined by a stellar lineup of local musicians: Gabriel Mervine (trumpet), Jack Dunlevie (piano), Seth Lewis (bass), and Dru Heller (drums).
Taylor Clay was born in Brooklyn, NY, and began his musical journey at the age of 13 with his middle school jazz band. After high school, Taylor attended the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. After completing his degree in Music performance in 2012, Taylor moved to Colorado to attend the University of Northern Colorado as a graduate student and teaching assistant. Taylor lives in Denver, Colorado, and works as a full-time freelance musician and private educator.
