In July, acclaimed guitarist and composer Matt Fuller returns to the Nocturne stage with his trio (Patrick McDevitt on bass and Dru Heller on drums) to explore his unique original compositions as well as select standards. As an artist, Matt seeks to create an experience that invites listeners on a journey of both the familiar and the unknown. His melodies are often easily sing-able, yet he finds joy in the moments of contrast, spontaneity and interplay. From straight ahead jazz and modern jazz to pop, old school country and ballads broad stylistic landscapes will be traversed by this skilled trio
Matt is a professional performer and educator in the Denver/Boulder area. He holds a Masters in jazz performance from the University of Colorado, and is a former long-time student of celebrated veteran jazz guitarist/educator Dale Bruning. Matt lived in NYC as a freelancing musician and teacher from 2012-2015. Matt currently teaches jazz and guitar classes at Denver School of the Arts and runs his own private music studio.
