Friday nights throughout November, Kenyon Brenner takes to the Nocturne stage to highlight his original works for small group, including the music from his newly released debut album as a leader, The Long and Short of It. He will be joined onstage by a tremendous quartet consisting of Jack Roben (guitar), Dana Landry (piano), Erik Applegate (bass), and Brian Claxton (drums).
Saxophonist and composer Kenyon Brenner has performed intermittently in Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and across North America experiencing the joys of collaborating with musicians from many cultures. Kenyon has been a semifinalist in the North American Saxophone Alliance’s Jazz Saxophone Competition and has performed with artists such as: Benny Green, Donny McCaslin, Terrell Stafford, Jeff Hamilton, Christian McBride, Chris Potter, Dave Pietro, Eddie Gomez, Louis Hayes, and Benny Golson. Kenyon currently splits his time between performing jazz and teaching at the University of Northern Colorado.
