FreeBear delivers airtight grooves that exude a cool, irresistible funk. It’s jazz, funk, reggae, salsa and more all rolled into a good old-fashioned dance party. Led by Patrick McDevitt and Alejandro Castaño alongside a rotating cast of Denver’s most stellar musicians. FreeBear will perform in the Phyllis A. Greer Studio on Thursday, July 21 at 3pm, this performance will be recorded and aired at a later date.

Formed in 2010 by McDevitt and Castaño while they were both music students at CU Boulder. Playing every Thursday night for nearly 2 years, they quickly honed the unique FreeBear sound. Since then, they have quickly become some of the top-call rhythm section players in Colorado. With their signature grooves and inimitable pocket they have backed artists including Gabriel Mervine, Peter Sommer, Dan Schwindt, Annie Booth, Josh Quinlan’s Funky Fresh Trio, Mike Dillon of Primus, and Joe Tatton of The New Mastersounds.

FreeBear will perform at Dazzle on Friday, November 22 at 9pm.
