Steinway Pianist, Lenore Raphael: Jazz critics have compared her to Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and even Thelonious Monk, but with all these influences, Lenore Raphael is just ONE thing… a great pianist! Teacher and radio host Lenore Raphael has toured the world playing many renowned jazz venues and venues such as Jazz At Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Ronnie Scott’s, Birdland and festivals such as The London Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, Joy of Jazz in South Africa and many more. She also writes music and has won ASCAP awards for her original compositions.
This is a top quartet whose members are nationally and internationally renowned jazz musicians coming together from a cross section of The USA… from New York City to Raleigh, NC, to Minneapolis to Denver. The performance will be Oscar meets Milt meets the MJQ… a tribute to the music that Oscar Peterson recorded with Milt Jackson and also tunes that Milt recorded as part of the Modern Jazz Quartet.
