adThe students of CCJA’s SheBop Workshop celebrate International Women’s Day by capping off their immersive jazz camp experience with creative performances in their own original voices.
The SheBop Workshop for Young Women in Jazz, created by Annie Booth through the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts, is a workshop for young women and female-identifying students ages 10-18. The SheBop Workshop focuses on creating community and connection while empowering young women to creatively express themselves within the historically male-dominated art form of jazz. The camp is led by an all-star faculty of accomplished professional women musicians/composers alongside SheBop director Annie Booth. The camp includes small group and big band playing, masterclasses, jam sessions, group lessons, listening sessions, and group activities, all in the name of creating meaningful connection and maximum self-expression
