We are excited to welcome bassist Seth Lewis back to the Nocturne stage, as he presents a five week residency entitled “Inspiration”.

Seth’s notes on this unique project: “For my second Nocturne residency as a leader I wanted to play with Eric Gunnision and Steve Kovalcheck, two musicians that challenge and inspire me. In addition to being consummate professionals, they have a deep understanding of melody and harmony, without neglecting the rhythmic feel and intensity that gives music life. Playing in a group without drums allows each of us to take a central role in establishing grooves and opens a world of possibilities for interaction. Though we will be playing music from a wide spectrum of eras, the drummer-less lineups of Nat Cole, Amhad Jamal and Oscar Peterson will be a source of reference and further inspiration throughout the series. The book for this project has been heavily curated for over a half year and we can’t wait to share this music with audiences”.
