In a World Premiere collaboration with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance and Denver Arts and Venues presents “Sacred Spaces?” The Fall Concert will have three modern dance works. “Sacred Spaces?” acknowledges and seeks to heal faith communities who have lost their sacred spaces. This work was prompted by the loss of three churches in 2019.
Sacred Spaces? features original music by Adonis Rose. Music will be performed by members of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and danced by the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble.
Saturday, September 17, 7:30 p.m. tickets
Sunday, September 18, 2 p.m. tickets
The concept of “sacred” encompasses myriad elements of culture, emotion, and spirit, and this concert seeks to shine new light on important stories including the arson fires that destroyed three Black churches in Opelousas, LA in 2019.
