This is the second meeting of this trio; the first occasion being the Creative Music Series in March 2020. Call their music Creative, Free, Improvised, Self-Organizing, Free Jazz, or something else, but it is spontaneous, unplanned, in the moment, and singular, unlike anything else you’ve heard.

This tour presents the trio in seven gigs in four days across Colorado and Wyoming. Josh Reed joins the trio for this Muse Performance on trumpet. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, TONY MALABY has been permanently based in New York since 1995 and has been a member of many notable jazz groups including Charlie Haden’s Liberation Orchestra, Paul Motian’s Electric Bebop Band, Mark Helias’ Open Loose, Fred Hersch’s quintet and Walt Whitman project, Michell Portal’s Birdwatcher, various projects with Daniel Humair and bands led by Mario Pavone, Tim Berne, Chris Lightcap, Kris Davis, Angelica Sanchez, Michael Attias and Marty Ehrlich.
