Electric bassist Matt Skellenger has always been an exception to the rules. By combining forward thinking creativity, progressive techniques, and natural musicality, Skellenger displays a uniquely identifiable sound. Skellenger has been composing, performing, and recording in Colorado for 25 years, and has studied with world-renowned bassist and educator Victor Wooten. He leads his own jazz/world music group, plays in The Grown Ass Man Band, and performs solo and duo shows.
Combining centuries-old acoustic instruments with modern electronic instruments and effects, it’s safe to say you’ve likely never heard a band quite like the Matt Skellenger Group. In April the group released their 4th studio album Vitality, a blend of jazz, world music, and fusion featuring an incredible lineup of nonpareil musicians. Don’t miss out on this singular sonic world!
