Saturday night is the long-awaited “Secret Language” CD release party for Mary Lynn Gillaspie. Ms. Gillaspie, in addition to being a good friend, is one of the great modern jazz singers of our time who brings mastery, depth, and soul to her craft as a singer and native skill as a bandleader. As a founder of the Grammy-nominated band, Rare Silk, she toured the world with Rare Silk by invitation with Benny Goodman. Their concerts included Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.

Fast forward to the present, her newest recording ‘Secret Language’ is her swan song CD to a brilliant career that has spanned 45 years. At the same time, Secret Language is completely fresh and current, replete with her signature lush and beautiful harmonies and gorgeous arrangements by Kip Kuepper at Coupe Studios in Boulder.
