There’s something very special about American big band music. 18 screaming trumpets, swinging rhythms, synchronized saxes, and in-your-face trombones create the new and familiar in the great American tradition we call jazz. The Denver Jazz Orchestra is the Mile High City’s premier big band. The band plays traditional swing , legacy big band music from the book of Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich and modern Latin and funk big band music. The band is comprised of some of Denver’s top musicians who come together to keep the tradition of a powerhouse 18-piece big band alive and thriving in Denver.
