Peter Sommer is joined by Ben Markley (piano), Matt Smiley (bass), and Dru Heller and Alejandro Castano (drums) for an evening of music by and for the great tenor saxophonists of the 1960s, including influences such as Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley, Gene Ammons, Eddie Harris, and John Coltrane. Featuring classics from the Blue Note and Prestige catalogs, as well as other gems off the beaten path. Join us for a night of swing, grace, power, and soul!
Saxophonist Peter Sommer has contributed his energetic and graceful playing and creative spirit to a wide variety of musical projects ranging from mainstream bebop to classic and contemporary concert music to avant-garde improvisations at venues across the nation and around the world.
