Flutist, saxophonist, and composer Joe Anderies has been active in the Denver jazz scene for the past 35 years. Parallel to his performance career is his involvement in the music education community and specifically the jazz education scene. He has pioneered an extensive jazz mentoring network to foster young musicians in elementary and middle schools. Currently retired from full time teaching he is now concentrating on private teaching, mentoring with the CCJA program, music publishing, and jazz clinician activities in both public schools and colleges. Joe’s first album of all original music – Resonance – has been receiving critical acclaim and is featured on 190 digital platforms worldwide.
Alec Streete is a vibraphonist, composer, and producer from Denver, Colorado. Alec studied music at Denver School of the Arts and was in the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts program. During his time in these programs, he has played with and learned from such greats as Paul Romaine, Dave Liebman, Eric Gunnison, Greg Gisbert, Greg Osby, Brad Goode, Terrell Stafford, Ron Miles, Shane Endsley, Mark Simon, and others. Alec studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with professors and artists that included Warren Wolf, Matt Brewer, David Sanchez, Mike Rodriguez, Jason Morgan, Carl Allen, Matt Wilson, and Edward Simon. Now back in Denver, Alec has been collaborating, producing, and freelancing with various groups including Splifftet and fellow producer NO-FVCE. Alec has released solo projects under the name BLKLNGS, the first of which was featured in Okayplayer magazine, as well as a live album with Splifftet.
