French Connections | Music from French Cinema and beyond

A diverse and eclectic evening of music from the great French composers and bands from the 1960’s through the 90’s. Michel LeGrand, Serge Gainsbourg, Francis Lai, les Rita Mitsouko and others.

Julie Monley from Denver, was a perennial favorite singer and band leader at the Sole Jazz Supper Club for many years and I’m delighted to have her perform at the Full Cycle Café & Bar. This show will be particularly fun because she will perform some of the famous music from French cinema as well as favorites from the French repertoire.

She lived and worked many years in London and then Paris where she received the Best Vocalist Prize at the ‘97 « Jazz Festival de Vienne,».  She was awarded the second prize at « Tremplin Jazz du Val d’Oise » in France, competing with 185 groups of professional musicians from throughout Europe. Taking part in many notable festivals in France, the Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival, Jazz à Monségur, and Jazz Festival of Colmar, she also worked steadily in the clubs of Paris.

Julie Monley teams up with her brother Andy Monley, a celebrated Denver rock musician and a cast of musicians pulled from the rock and the jazz genre.
