Back by popular demand is the Rico Jones Organ Jazz Quartet featuring Vlad Girshevich on Hammond B3 performing another evening of Herbs and Vices.
This will be an unforgettable night of soulful, groove-driven jazz inspired by the legendary Denver dive bar jazz club, Herb’s Hideout. Every Monday and Tuesday, Vlad Girshevich, a piano extraordinaire, showcases his mastery there on the organ, performing jazz standards, originals, and unique arrangements. Vlad is a key figure in preserving Colorado’s jazz legacy, bridging the gap between youth and seasoned masters alike.
Rico Jones is an acclaimed saxophonist and composer known for his unique blend of Indigenous Latino heritage and gospel influences, bringing a deep emotional connection to his music. A six-time Downbeat Magazine award-winner, Rico has performed internationally and collaborated with some of the most respected figures in jazz. He is known for his soulful tone, captivating improvisation, and creative compositions.
The band also embodies a deep mentorship story: Marcus Firillo and Vlad Girshevich played crucial roles in shaping the early development of Rico Jones and Aleks Girshevichas musicians. Now, years later, the quartet comes together to create an expression of camaraderie, mentorship, and a shared love for the music they live for.
