Jason Moran and The Bandwagon perform at The Holiday Theatre. Moran’s exhibition Bathing the Room with Blues is currently on view at MCA Denver. In addition to his work as a visual artist, Moran is widely recognized as a leading force in contemporary jazz.

As both composer and pianist, Moran plays with an unmistakable sense of funk, fluidity, and freedom. Together with his group The Bandwagon, bassist Tarus Mateen and drummer Nasheet Waits, the trio delivers an explosive combination of classical and contemporary jazz styles.

Moran was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2010 and is the Artistic Director for Jazz at The Kennedy Center.

Rolling Stone magazine calls him “the most provocative thinker in current jazz.”
