Saxophonist Harry Drabkin is a Berklee College of Music graduate and faculty member who performed in the Recording Band, Faculty Jazz Ensemble and the internationally recognized Berklee Saxophone Quartet. His major jazz inspiration was John Coltrane, as well as Miles, Cannonball and Charlie Mariano. He subsequently became a Professor of Oncology at CU, then Chief of Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After retiring, he returned to Denver where he’s been active in the local jazz scene. The music will feature works of Coltrane and other greats of that era. Along with the marvelous Eric Gunnison on piano, they’ll include selections from their new CD “After The Rain,” which can be heard on Spotify and Apple Music.
