Spring 2022 Jazz Piano Class with Jack Dunlevie
Study real life applications of piano techniques to take your improvising to the next level!
Saturdays 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
April 16 thru June 11
No class on June 4 so you can enjoy the Five Points Jazz Festival
This semester we’ll continue our exploration of solo piano textures and techniques with an emphasis on real life application, rather than broad theoretical concepts. Each student will have a main song to work on through the semester and as we discover ways to play one student’s piece we’ll zoom out to apply the same ideas to each of the other student’s songs. Taking concepts from one key/feel/tempo to another will help us to solidify our ideas and really take advantage of the group class setting.
