Vinny Golia is an internationally recognized composer and woodwind performer. He has won awards from Jazz Times, Downbeat, Jazziz Magazine, Jazz Journalists Association, National Endowment for the Arts, etc. He has performed with Anthony Braxton, John Zorn, Tim Berne, Henry Grimes, John Carter, Bobby Bradford, Leo Smith, Horace Tapscott, George Lewis, Misha Mengelberg, Han Bennick, the L.A. Philharmonic, and can be heard on 160+ recordings.
Vinny Golia and SeFa LoCo share the musical languages of jazz, free jazz, free improvisation, and noise music. Their melding of acoustic and electronic sounds is fluid, often confounding the listener. Their playing complements, contrasts, and constantly pushes forward in new, unknown directions, generating complex, unexpected sound worlds. Bassist Bill McCrossen will fill the bass chair for this performance.
