Doug McLemore Quartet “Classical Meets Jazz” Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio No. 2

To some ears, classical and jazz can seem like odd bedfellows, but Doug McLemore and his quartet are happy to prove those ears wrong. Within this unique “crossover” genre, few musical works have melded the classical and jazz styles together as convincingly, tastefully, and entertainingly as Claude Bolling’s Suites for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio. The quartet will perform Bolling’s second Suite, as well as a few other selections that showcase the delightfully surprising compatibility of these two great musical traditions.
