CCJA is “Digging Deeper” with Matt Smiley

In this series, Matt Smiley will take the audience through avant-garde jazz concepts through looking at examples from free jazz, contemporary classical music, and his original music.

Audience members will get deeper into how to apply these concepts to their listening, transcribing, and individual and group playing. This series is free and open to the public. Zoom link Passcode: ccja

Interviews are curated by Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts faculty and staff member Camilla Vaitaitis; and include incredible interviews with jazz musicians and industry professionals (Instagram Live), CCJA Masterminds workshops over Zoom (free – suggested donation), and the CCJA Jazz Book Club on the last Sunday of the month.
