The Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC) and partners—Flourish Art Gallery, Metro State University Chicano/a/x Studies and Journey Through Our Heritage, and Colorado Folk Arts Council, celebrates Cinco de Mayo with their Cinco de Mayo exhibit at Flourish Art Gallery.
To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, CHAC is very excited to be hosted by Flourish Art Gallery and feature Cinco de Mayo themed art. Flourish Gallery (6851 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO) is the second exhibition space for CHAC member artists to show since the Covid pandemic.
“CHAC is very honored to partner with other community spaces while we find a new home after being displaced due to the pandemic. Cinco de Mayo is the perfect time to celebrate healing our community” says CHAC Education Director Arlette Lucero.
Traditional Aztec dancers will present on Saturday, May 1, at 2 pm to honor this space and new exhibit. There will be food trucks and activities. Masks and social distancing are required.
For additional information go to CHAC or contact Asia Fajardo-Diamond. Participants will be able to register on the website.
