Charles Blenzig is a pianist, composer, arranger, and producer who slips effortlessly among musical styles while retaining his own distinct sound. Born in the Bronx, he was part of the New York City Jazz scene for over 35 years.
Recently relocated to Colorado, Charles has worked with The Gil Evans Orchestra, Michael Brecker, Gato Barbieri, Michael Franks, Bill Evans (former saxophonist with Miles Davis), Marcus Miller, Larry Coryell, Dennis Chambers, Will Lee, Roy Ayers, Dave Weckl, Patti Austin, and many others. Charles is currently on the faculty of Colorado Conservatory of Jazz Arts (CCJA), directed by legendary drummer, Paul Romaine.
This date will be the trio’s premier performance with bassist extraordinaire, Hunter Roberts, and prodigy drummer, JJ Mazza, playing a diverse repertoire from Monk and Wayne Shorter, to Radio Head, original compositions and more.
