Join in the celebration of National Poetry Month with discussions on slam poetry, how the arts can change communities and much more with Colorado Poet Laureate Bobby LeFebre and poet Suzi Q. Smith. Both poets will perform their work as well as field a Q&A.

LeFebre is a playwright, poet, actor and activist from Denver. His spoken word poetry has won him two Grand Slam Championships, a place in the finals of a National Poetry Slam, and led him to the stage twice as a TEDx speaker. LeFebre’s 2019 play Northside, which documents how gentrification has affected his Denver neighbor, earned him the True West Awards’ 2019 Colorado Theatre Person of the Year. Smith is an award-winning performer from Denver, as well as an artist, activist and educator. She is a champion of poetry, winning slam competitions and placing in the finals for the World Poetry Slam, along with coaching teens for close to a decade. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs.
