Presenting a compelling catalog of untold stories from inmates at Denver Women’s Correctional Facility, Davey and the Blu Dog is excited to bring you the voices of the voiceless during this powerful showcase of real-life blues music written from a jail cell. Much like how this historical genre offered hope, camaraderie, and a voice to an oppressed population in the American South, these songs from the Blues Behind Bars program aim to empower incarcerated individuals by giving them a medium with which to tell their story and a platform from which to share it.
