Nocturne is thrilled to present the Bailey Hinkley Grogan Quartet playing the music from Bailey’s newly released debut album, Three Sides of a Story. Presenting a wide range of music in settings both sensitive and creative, this band honors the rich tradition of American music as a whole while remaining deeply personal and expressive. This newest artistic project is a series of multigenre vocal and instrumental duos, including works by Cher, Willie Nelson, Pat Metheny, and Grogan herself. As the title suggests, the duo concept consists of three perspectives: two from both musicians and one from the listener, creating a multi-faceted listening experience. Bailey is joined by an all-star lineup of phenomenal Denver musicians: Camilla Vaitaitis (piano), Alejandro Castaño (drums), and Matt Smiley (bass).

Bailey Elizabeth Hinkley Grogan is a jazz vocalist, songwriter, educator, and performer based in Denver, CO, and Los Angeles, CA. Her bright, yet melancholy sound reflects her deep study of the jazz idiom while paying homage to her influences in Nancy Wilson, Chick Corea, Sheryl Crow, and Jamie Cullum. Her improvisatory style is fearless and bold, while her songwriting and lyrical delivery reflect the raw, emotional heartache and undying beauty found in her life story. Her music, which resembles the likes of Folk, R&B, and Jazz styles, is a reflection of intense experiences in her young life.
