Award-winning percussion ensemble Atlas Percussion performs exciting and diverse works, ranging from adaptations of J.S. Bach to pieces by modern masters such as Steve Reich.
A quartet based out of Denver, Colorado, Atlas Percussion strives to bring contemporary, exciting, and energetic percussion music to new audiences. Formed in 2018, they have been featured on Denver’s “Friends of Chamber Music” series and were awarded First Place in the 2019 Lamont Chamber Competition. They proudly bring different individual influences and interests to the table, spanning improvisational, orchestral, electronic, and world music. In their commissions, they work to expand the percussion quartet repertoire by drawing from all of these explorations. Individually, members of the ensemble have been featured at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the Chosenvale Percussion Institute, and Electronic Music Midwest, as well as with ensembles including arx duo, Sandbox Percussion, Lamont Percussion Ensemble, Michigan State University Percussion Ensemble, University of Wyoming Percussion Ensemble, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Boulder Symphony Orchestra, and Lansing Symphony Orchestra.
