This fantastic event had over 400 attendees and included amazing food, entertainment, and an awards presentation that highlighted outstanding African businesses and our partners.
We created short videos for all the nominees to showcase their businesses and impact the community. Although all nominees were considered winners, we provided a beautiful trophy for the winners of each category. Feedback from this event was extremely positive from attendees, our sponsors, and our featured businesses. This event was able to recognize immigrant businesses that don’t typically get the recognition they deserve.
Our 2023 event promises to be even more exciting and impactful. For the 2nd Annual event on January 27th, we are expecting over 500 attendees keynote speakers, entertainment, great food, drinks, a silent auction, and of course, a dynamic presentation for our nominated businesses and winners.
By providing skills and support, we seek to increase the vitality of these businesses, avert small business failure, and promote social inclusion within the Denver metro area. We put more than 97 small businesses on the road to success in 2021 with the assistance of technical assistance. The African Chamber provided information from experts on topics that helped them increase sales, get access to capital, streamline their operations, take advantage of new technologies, expand into new markets, and position themselves for long-term success.
TICKETS — The VIP Reception begins 30 minutes before the event at 5:00 pm and will include opportunities to meet, mingle and take pictures with John Amos from Coming to America, Roland Martin, Journalist & Political Consultant, keynote speakers, and honored guests. Drinks will be available throughout the VIP Reception.
There are 200 uncovered parking spots available across from the Event Center entrance, on the NE corner of Kentucky and Cherry, 100 yards from the front door. An additional 800 covered spaces are available in the parking garage less than one block north of the Event Center.
Funds raised from the 2nd Annual Business Awards Reception will provide programming to help start-ups and existing businesses succeed by developing fundamental business skills including entity formation, taxes, resource acquisition, business planning, business loans, commercial leasing, financing, and market research in order to establish sustainable business entities that can hire employees from the community.
