With the aim of disseminating their original music, this jazz trio, originally formed in Colombia, South America, in mid-2011, wishes to present master pieces, which include original songs by their leader Adrián Herrera as well as arrangements of some jazz standards in trio format. Its high level of performance is characterized by a powerful and aggressive modern jazz sound that contrasts with its lyricism at slow tempos. The trio was born out of a need to explore timbre and fundamental elements such as composition and improvisation in a purely jazzy language thanks to the vast experience of its members, all of whom were educated in South America and the United States. The Colombian pianist Adrián Herrera surprises with his great aesthetic and interpretative qualities; his continued participation in the jazz scene in his country, South America and United States has been described by the page “Jazz Colombia” as that of one of the most prominent local mainstream musicians. On this occasion, Herrera is doing his debut of his American jazz trio version with Andy Wheelock on drums and Gonzalo Teppa on bass.
