A Celebration of Community!

For the third year running, City Park Jazz revisits the runaway popularity of the resurgence of Second-Line-influenced Brass Bands! This incredibly popular series-in-our-series features an extended evening — festivities get started an hour earlier than usual, at 5 pm, and will feature a mega-brass-jam at the end of the night!

No-Hands Brass Band – Irrepressibly exuberant and brilliantly versatile, No Hands Brass Band updates the full-throated brass band sound with dazzling virtuosity and artistic sensitivity. Equally adept in energetic pop, hard-hitting funk, contemporary jazz and Dixieland swing, the group performs absorbing music with ear-catching melodies, improvisational prowess, and deep grooves. Welcome to a new sonic world. Respect the noise.

Tivoli Club Brass Band – Denver’s most beloved brass band brings the tradition of the New Orleans Second Line to the Mile High. A Centennial State jambalaya of classic and contemporary hits, micro-brewed with the flavors that make Colorado the greatest state in the union. Tivoli Club Brass Band features a veritable superband of who’s-who in Denver local music; musicians who’ve been playing this scene since before it existed, with bands like Furious George and the Monster Groove, Judge Roughneck, Head for the Hills, Sammy Mayfield Blues Revue, Money Plays 8, The Flobots, Til Willis, Bow Shock, FaceMan, Oxycodone, Alpha Schoolmarm Orchestra and dozens more.

Badda Boom Brass Band infuses the soul of New Orleans street music into an eclectic mix of hip hop, funk, party anthems and world music. Started in Denver, Colorado in 2015, the group has built a reputation for bringing the party wherever they go, with their spectacular blend of in-your-face, upbeat dance music, great visuals and crowd participation! They expand the brass band genre with their rapping frontman and unique instrumentation. There ain’t no party like a Badda Boom party!
