Ellyn Rucker Trio at City Park Jazz | Aug. 2

Bop-based pianist and sensuous singer Ellyn Rucker is bringing her trio to City Park Jazz August 2 as a guest of honor.

Rucker will be joined by Myra Warren and guest vocalists Wendy Fopeano and Joni Janak. The group will be accompanied by Ken Walker on bass and Jill Fredericksen on drums.

Beginning piano at 8 years old and discovering jazz at 13, Rucker has long been a fixture in the Denver music scene. Rucker held down the piano bench for years at Denver’s El Chapultepec, backing local and national players. 

A full -time musician since 1979, Rucker has toured Europe several times and recorded albums on Capri Record Labels. Over the years, Rucker has worked with Spike Robinson, Clark Terry, Kenny Burrell, and many more.
